• 4 oz butter ( not as good with Margarine)
  • 3oz soft brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp golden syrup
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 8 oz rolled oats (oatmeal or porridge)
  1. Place the butter and sugar in a bowl and heat on high for 1½ minutes until the butter has melted.
  2. Stir in the syrup, salt and baking powder, then add the oats and mix well.
  3. Press the mixture into a greased, shallow 8 inch dish.
  4. Cook on high for 6 minutes.

Leave to stand for 15 minutes and then cut into pieces.
